M. van den Berg (2021) on IMSLP Dedication The manuscript score appears to be a presentation copy with the inscription 'Seiner Majestät / Kaiser von Deutschland und König von Preußen / Wilhelm I / in tiefster Ehrfurcht gewidmet'. Wilhelm was King of Prussia from 1861 and German Kaiser from 1871. In a letter to Schott of 1 June 1861, Baermann requests a dedication to 'Mr. Th[omas] Klein, imperial-royal chamber musician and 1st clarinetist of the imperial-royal theater at Kärntnertor in Vienna'. Notes no manuscript sources in Schott-Archiv despite frequent mentions of it in the correspondence.
